Water

This movie Water.. over all the movies I had watched in my lifetime the movie Water captivated my mind the most. It made me over look on my in my life in so many ways, on how in other cultures - people are on how they treat women.. It also made me see & realize how lucky & fortunite we are to live the life we have, but also as us women.

The movie was about a young girl named Chuyia, about the age 7-8yrs. old & a widow.. she s spontanious, playful, independent, innocent, curious young girl who in my opinion feels not yet understands WHY she has to live the life in the "House of Widow's". An be treated like outcast's, blacksheep, unwanted& uncared for women who have to shave there heads to be known of who/what they are. But later as Chuyia, is living in the House of Widow's she meets a beautiful women name Kalyani, a caring, thoughtful, beautiful, polite, respectful, giving, very religious young girl but the difference between Kalyani & the other widow's is that she has long beautiful hair, but to this brings a dark-dreadful secert that she hides & keeps to herself, to help the other widows to survive..

Even if she feels in her heart if this is "truly right" on what she is doing. Later on Chuyia meets a young man named Narayan, who is a very important young man as I think almost to them as a "prince-wealthy" & very educational, gentle minded, kind hearted. Who whines up meeting & falling in love with Kalyani, not only though for her beauty but in the inside as well. There is more to this story that I can ever say in this blog.. the ending is very "Drawing" to me I had a strong feeling towards it, It is shockingly sad what happens to Kalyani & Chuyia. But I cannot say much.. All I can tell you is if you have not seen to just take the time & understand why I feel the way I do about this film.

My feelings towards this film & the message it brings to it is very strong, emoitionally & mentally. Well from my point of view, is also brought as I had said very earlier on in this blog is that it brought open, over look in my life as well as others now in this film. The passion & heartfelt it had on me. How a women can be or is being treated at this very moment in our time. I am very fortunite to have been able to have seen this "Rareity" of a film, & experiance something I have never felt before.

My rating on this film I would say I would recommend to anyone, a truly one of a kind film. It took my breath away & captitivated Proxy-Connection: keep-alive

mind as I hope it does for others.

Water Movie review

Water is about the lives of widows over in India (I think it is, I'm not sure) but the movie starts out with a girl named Chuyia. Who is only eight or nine years old. She didn't know it at the time but she was married to someone. the man that she married died and she became a widow. They shaved her head, they took her clothes of luxury and gave her white clothing to indicate that she is a widow.

She was living a widow house or home whatever its called. Anyways this place that all of the widows house is very poor. but not all of the widows are bald or shaved, this widows name Kalyani she is very beautiful and kind. she meets a dude named Narayan he meets with her and wants to marry her. There is although one thing that stops her from marrying him, her long hair is not there just because-she is kind of like a prostitute for the widow home and her client is Narayan's father. so she kills herself, well the morning after Narayan comes back to get her and finds out. He is so depressed that he wants to move out of the country and chuyia the little girl in the begining and most of the movie is given the to Narayan by shakuntala-one of the people in charge of the widow home so that she doesnt have to live in the misery of the widow home.

This is a good movie but I dont think its a movie that I would buy.

Water a review

Water is a movie about a girl, Chuyia, who is widowed when her husband, who she didn't marry, dies. she is sent to a house for widows and is sure her mother will get her out of there by the next day.
Chuyia soon meets a Kalyani a woman who is cast out and lives above the widows in the building. Kalyani is whored out by Di Di an obease widow who thinks this is nesisary to get money for the widows home.
Kalyani takes Chuyia to a river with a dog and the dog runs away. Chuyia runs to get the dog and runs into Nariyan, a schollar who falls in love with Kalyani as soon as he sees her, and he sees to make Kalyani his wife.
Water, in my opinion, was an alright movie. It had a great plot line and wonderful characters but there was a bit of strong theams during it and it was in a differant language. I wouldn't go out to see it again but I wouldn't say its a bad movie.
I give it 3 gandhis out of 5.

Water Movie Review

This movie was really good i enjoined the whole movie. The thing that really got to me was the way they would treat the woman well "WIDOWS" and what they did to that little girl was horrible. I the other thing is (HOW DO YOU DROWN YOURSELF???) i also recommend this movie it's really good. because it shows what women go through in India when they become widows and the reason why they are put in that position.

Kaitlin's "Water" Review.

I liked the movie Water. It saddend me that people really live like that, but it had alot of meaning to it. Nobody should have to go through that, and nobody should be led to believe that they are doing right by it. The movie had alot of emotion to it.

Narayan was my favorite, he had so much going for him even though he goes against others beliefs. He made Kaliyani realize she should do what she thought right. Not what anybody else thought to be right. He cared for Chuyia too. You don't really know until the end but he wants whats best for everybody, for the world.

The strongest message in the movie in a way was greed. The way Didi had Chuyia taken over the river to make money was horrible. No little girl should go through that. Kaliyani should not have been forced to do that. The whole movie wasn't about religeon at all, just greed. Just one less mouth to feed. Just one less person to clothe and care for.
I strongly recomend this movie for a number of reasons. One, you can learn about Indias culture. Two, you can learn how greedy and dishonest some people are. And three, so you know what goes on around the world.

Water Movie Review

Me and my classmates recently watched the movie Water in English class.

The movie is set in the 1830's in India. It's basically based on a Widow's life after her husbands death because in India you are arranged to marry someone and if he ends up dying you will be sent to live in a house of other Widows, you can't remarry or live anywhere else. They also shave your head so people, especially men know you're a Widow.

Chuyia, an 8 year old recent Widow is forced to live with Widows. Her first day there she doesn't want to listen to anyone, she is convinced her mother is going to come pick her up. But while she is waiting she meets her first real friend in the home of the Widows, Kalyani. Kalyani is one of the most friendly, thoughtful Widow. One other thing that separates her from the others is she is the only one with her long hair.

Abby's water movie thoughts!!!!!!

I liked the movie water a lot but i also disliked it too. The end of the movie is what really got to me i didn't like that part because it almost made me cry!! I love the message this movie sent out for me even though others may have had a different opinion. The movie water had the message to not to always follow what you are brought to beleive because it may not be right for you so people need to follow what your heart says to do. another thing that was sent from the movie to my brain was seeing how poorly these women are treated only because they are widows.

The movie water was very interesting if i would ever have to rate this movie i woul go for a 12 out if 10 just because of the many messages it sends. In the movie water I would have to say two of the most disturbing parts are what happens to Chuyia and the second one is that Navayans father was the one who did it. i would recomend this movie to anyone who likes to see what happens in other parts of the world, or how gaundi affected places he didn't even live although there were no tvs to tell the news. by, Abby Pelka :)

Review for water

The movie water takes place in India around 1938. There are a few main characters, the first you see is Chuyia, a 7-year-old girl who is now a widow and is sent to the house where all widows live. The second main character you find is DiDi, a fat, selfish, over privilaged widow who lives in the same house and is "the boss". Some other main characters are Kalyani, a widow in her 20's who is forced into becoming a prostitute, Shakuntala, another "boss" but is much nicer than DiDi and she wants to help Chuyia, and finally Narayan, a nice man who is in law school and is nice to Chuyia, and he also wants to marry Kalyani, which is against there religion.

I think that this movie has a strong message which is implying that everyone should be treated equal, even the widows, and that if your concouse tells you that something is right or wrong it would most likely be that way, even if it goes against your religion.

I would recommend this movie to a lot of people but not to someone who is not mature enough to get this strong message.

Water

The movie water was a really great film to watch. I really liked it because it shows you what happens if you don't get married. I also like the character chuyia because she's funny in the film and i also like kalyni as a character because she's very cute.I think the part that was sad for me was when they the people had to shave off chuyia head and she had to leave with the other people in the village. The best part was when narayan and kalyani got married but the main lady that was in charge of everybody was mad because she didn't narayan and kalyani to get married.

water review

I thought that this movie was rather depressing and boring because there was nothing exciting or amusing that went to this movie. While I was watching this movie I thought that it was to serious and that they should have put more genres into the movie like comedy for example. Although the message stood out, there was a certain mood around the way that the characters acted and talked. The characters were very well played, however many of the scenes were hard to get into for me.
Personally I would not recommend this movie to someone under the age of 13 because of the strength of the movie. It was a very powerful film with an even more powerful message.

water

I think water was a very good movie because it makes you feel grateful for the life you have in America and the freedom we have, while watching the movie i could not believe there are women going threw that. i look up to these widows because even though they have to live a way they dont want to they still find the faith and strenght to keep on going. i really dont like the character kalyani because she lets people push her around and when she felt stuck in the middel of everything she gave up and threw everything out the window yet if only she could of kept herself together until the next morning.. i loved the character shakuntala she reminded me of a motherly strong women that finds the need to protect and love the people around her. i would totally watch this movie over again n recommend it to everyone i know..-Mauri munoz

The movie "Water"

Well, I thought that this movie "Water", was total bogus, I can see what the message was, "nobody should live below others no Matter what." for me at least. Its not cool what happened too Chuyia. One thing that is very primal about our species is our religions, some believe that they're is a man in the sky that answers things we mutter under our breath, others believe in ancient Dietys that exist in statues. Some religious practices are so lame like the one where widows cant remarry and are looked down upon almost as if they're a bug of some sort.

I think that there should be a new religion where everyone is a god in they're own way, everything and everyone is equal. Religion shouldn't have too bash heads with science.

I reccomend this movie because its almost a documentary in the sense of events, the filming wasn't the same as a documentary but it wasn't a good movie.

Water?

Water was a very deep movie, it could have a great impact on peoples lifes . I think the movie was Inspiring, It helped me learn how the world is so different from my perspective. Widow's should be treated with respect, & should work as a sisterhood to have the RIGHT'S everyone else has. "A mans thoughts are no different than a women's."
It also talks about specific event's that occur in india around about the 1930's on how "India's Widow's" are treated out of hand in there daily life's. A young girl named Chuyia a child raging about the age from 7-8 & that is playful, curious, rebilious, & independent young girl. An could not take living so sudden to the "House of Widow's" which whom now at the time can remarry, without the knowlegde of them knowing. Why'll this is occuring Chuyia meets a young beautiful widow named Kalyani who is very polite, attractive, & religious but has a terrible seceret life, That she tries to live in silence. after a few weeks and the laws have changed, chuyia runs off for the dog. and runs in a guy named narayan. which follows chuyia back to kalyani and when they look at each other you can tell they both were having some thoughts. what narayan dosn't know about kalyani is that she has been sleeping with his father for money to support the widows.
then after he figures it out she couldn't live and her body lay beneath the water.

i liked the movie because it was quite interesting and had some very good sayings that could change the way you think .. i give it a 5 star rating ...
